The conference brought together 158 participants from 24 countries, featuring 117 oral presentations and 19 poster presentations over four days at Tampere University. It was an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss the latest advances in tribology, and strengthen collaborations across academia and industry.
A highlight for the COST Action Ocean Tribology Center (OTC) was the plenary lecture by Professor Nuria Espallargas, Working Group 2 Leader, entitled “Machine Learning–Driven Design of Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants.” The growing importance of sustainable lubrication, particularly in marine applications, was also reflected in the dedicated ocean tribology session and the Ocean Tribology Center (OTC) poster presentation.
