Working Group 6

Dissemination, exploitation, communication & training

WG6 aims to boost Europe’s human capital in R&I and innovation potential within the specific COST Action and beyond, ensuring proper knowledge transfer across relevant stakeholders.

Description of work: A detailed dissemination & communication strategy will be drafted based on the predefined measures (described in Section 3.2.2) (T6.1). This strategy will contain a.o., target groups, key messages, dissemination/communication channels and definition of agreed KPIs. The strategy will be continuously updated throughout the project duration. T6.2 will focus on the specific implementation and monitoring of communication (incl., website creation and maintenance, social media presence, etc.), and dissemination (incl., scientific publications, keynote talks, etc.) activities. Within the scope of T6.3, less-experienced COST Participants (e.g., ITC, YRI) with relevant exploitation interests stemming from any of the technical WGs will be supported via experiencesharing and best practices among organisations. This will closely relate to the IPR management chaired by the CG. T6.3 will furthermore actively pursue contributions to standardization in testing protocols and accelerated certification of ocean systems. Network-wide training activities will be organised focusing on boosting expert knowledge for the COST Action Participants (T6.4). This task will particularly consider staff exchanges of experienced research staff towards involved ITCs and STSMs for YRIs based on the needs and opportunities within the network. Training Schools will be organized for YRIs on various topics, including S&T and transversal skills to boost their career perspectives. Dedicated training sessions will be organised for involved industrial members. Training activities beyond the boundaries (scale & timing) of the network will be covered in T6.5. This will include webinars, workshops and organized conferences for which participation is open to all interested institutes.

Tasks:

T6.1: Dissemination & communication strategy;

T6.2: Communication and dissemination activities;

T6.3: Exploitation strategy and management;

T6.4: Network-wide training;

T6.5: Training beyond the boundaries of the network.

Engineering Sustainable Ocean Systems Through Tribological Innovation

Connecting European expertise to develop reliable, energy-efficient solutions for offshore wind, wave energy, and marine technologies.

COST

COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding agency for research and innovation networks. Our Actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and enable scientists to grow their ideas by sharing them with their peers. This boosts their research, career and innovation. www.cost.eu

The main aim of this Ocean Tribology Center (OTC) COST Action is to create a pan-European-wide network of countries with a strong offshore affiliation for promoting collaboration and knowledge-sharing towards the development of sustainable, reliable and energy efficient ocean systems.
